Sedbergh School: Conversion of Lecture Theatre into Chemistry Lab

The brief was to convert a lecture theatre into a usable chemistry lab.

This involved removing the tiered seating areas, supplying new chemistry desks with all correct sinks and waste pipes to take any chemicals, working alongside Bowker Electrical and Plumbing Division to achieve this.

Working in a busy environment...

New tables were custom made and existing parquet flooring preserved and reinstated as well as using reclaimed parquet to form the new area of floor.

As we were working in a busy school environment, health and safety was paramount and areas of the school block had to be sectioned off. Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment was essential. This project was delivered on time and within budget.

Stephen and his team recently undertook a ten month project for us involving a full renovation and extension of a period property. The team were excellent from day one. Stephen managed the project and involved us every step of the way. All members of the team were hardworking, polite and tidy in their work. Our project was completed to a very high standard.

We carried out a ground floor redevelopment project in January 2022 at The Longlands Hotel. Stephen and his team worked alongside our project manager and his workforce. We worked to a deadline, which was met, all solutions were found to any problems, all costs were upfront and most importantly the lads were hardworking team players! It was a pleasure to see, well done.

Stephen Hailey provided us with a very professional service from start to finish. Our project was to create a workshop for our engineer within an existing warehouse. Stephen understood what we wanted to achieve and came up with sound ideas before and during the build to ensure we now have an excellent purpose built and bespoke workshop.

Starting and building your own house project is a very daunting stressful experience and finding a reliable and trustworthy builder is critical for the build to be successful and financially reassuring. Steve was all that and more for us...we are incredibly happy with the house that Steve built for us, and after living it in it for over 12 months now, the feeling has only grown even more.

I cannot recommend Stephen Hailey highly enough.... The project was scheduled to take 6-8 weeks (weather dependent). Before work commenced, we were given the timetable so we knew who was going to be at the house, when and for how long. The communication throughout was excellent. All the lads and subcontractors were very efficient and polite. With their work being of a high standard whilst keeping the house clean and tidy. They also didn’t mind humouring me when I asked my stupid questions. Nine years of planning and it was all done in eight weeks. I have another project in the pipeline and Stephen will be the first person I ring
